Who We Are
It started with a single opportunity—and a single hive.
Through a Veteran Scholarship from the Northeast Beekeeping Association, Ryan took his first step into a world that many never see but everyone depends on. What began as one hive in a backyard quickly turned into a mission rooted in purpose, stewardship, and respect for nature.
Today, Ryan and his partner Amanda are caretakers of millions of bees across 15 thriving hives, spanning the rural landscapes of Ottawa, Waverly, Princeton, and Pomona, Kansas. But Ryan’s Backyard Company isn’t just about honey—it’s about cultivating life, sustaining ecosystems, and honoring a deep connection between land, service, and community.
